Fun Sports Day Enjoyed by Many
Today’s Fun Sports Day proved to be an outstanding success, with every single one of our pupils able to take part in what has been described as an inclusive and engaging sports event.
The innovative format saw children organised into groups of approximately twelve, rotating through an impressive array of fifteen different activities. Each group spent seven minutes at each station, ensuring maximum participation and enjoyment for all ages and abilities.
The diverse range of activities captured imaginations and challenged pupils in equal measure. From the classic space hopper races that parents also had a go on, to penalty shootouts that showcased hidden football talents, every child found something to excel at. The obstacle course tested agility and determination, whilst the foam javelin competition introduced pupils to athletic throwing techniques in a safe, fun environment.
Water-based activities proved particularly popular on the warm afternoon. The swimming race is always popular, while the water balloon challenge provided refreshing entertainment and plenty of laughter for participants and onlookers alike. The parachute games encouraged teamwork and coordination, creating memorable moments of collective achievement.

Parent feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing amazement at the variety of activities available. “It was wonderful to see every child engaged and discovering what they truly enjoyed,” commented one parent observer.
The school values continuous improvement and welcomes constructive feedback. Two suggestions have been noted for future planning: consideration of year group mixing within teams, and reassurance regarding supervision arrangements. The school confirms that junior children are appropriately supported when moving between activity stations, with responsible adults ensuring safe transitions throughout the event.
One parent even wrote in to express their gratitude…
“Fun sports day could not have been more fun. Very well organized! Hats off to all staff! You all made it so much fun. The values of the school are so strong in staff and children and could not be prouder of my daughter now being part of croft junior school.”
This year’s Fun Sports Day exemplified our commitment to inclusive, enjoyable physical education that celebrates every child’s participation and personal achievement.
