Celebrating a Week of Enrichment
19 June, 2026
What a marvellous week it has been at Croft! Across just a few days our children have shown us exactly why physical education and sport sit at the very heart of a happy, healthy school.
On Tuesday, our Inclusive Sports Day welcomed every single child to take part, whatever their confidence or ability. The emphasis was simple: get outside, get moving, and enjoy being active together. There were no winners or losers – just smiling faces, encouragement and the quiet pride that comes from having a go. For those who find competition daunting, this was a safe and joyful space to discover that sport belongs to everyone.
On Thursday came our competitive event, where children pushed themselves, represented their houses, and felt the thrill of striving to do their very best. Learning to compete matters. It teaches resilience, how to handle nerves, how to win graciously and lose with dignity – lessons that serve our children long after they leave us.
In plain terms, PE does far more than keep bodies fit. It builds confidence, friendship, teamwork and determination. Some children thrive on the finish line; others simply love taking part. Both are equally valuable and our job is to make room for both.
A heartfelt thank you to our staff, families and supporters who made it all possible. Weeks like this remind us why, together we will succeed.
