Don’t Miss the The Book Bus

We are excited to share news about our school’s ongoing focus on reading, as well as to promote a special event that will undoubtedly enrich our pupils’ literary experiences.

Reading is an essential skill that offers numerous benefits to children. It not only enhances literacy and comprehension but also stimulates creativity and imagination. Moreover, regular reading fosters empathy and understanding by exposing children to diverse perspectives and cultures. By cultivating a love for reading, we pave the way for lifelong learners who are better equipped to face the world around them.

In celebration of reading for pleasure, we are delighted to announce that The Book Bus will be visiting Croft on 13th February 2024 from 09:00 to 16:45. This unique mobile bookshop will give all our pupils the opportunity to explore a fantastic selection of books and, should they wish, purchase items to add to their personal collections. Each class will have a scheduled visit to the bus throughout the day.

We warmly invite you, as parents and guardians, to join us at 15:20 when the Book Bus will open for your visits. You can purchase books using cash or card, and it is a wonderful chance to buy gifts while supporting our school. All books will be available at a discounted rate, and I am pleased to inform you that the school will earn a 15% commission on the first book sold, which will help us acquire additional books for our library.

For those who wish to plan ahead, you can purchase an online voucher for your child to redeem on the bus. For more information, please visit The Book Bus website. Additionally, if you prefer to ensure your child’s desired books are set aside, you can opt for ‘Click and Collect’ online.
