Croft Rowers Make Waves at Nuneaton Schools Competition

Four Year 6 pupils showcased impressive determination and teamwork at the Nuneaton Schools Rowing Competition held at George Eliot Academy on Wednesday, 26th November.

Kyle, Lucas, Oskar and Lauchlin represented the school with distinction, securing a commendable fourth-place finish amongst competing teams. The achievement was particularly notable given that all four boys were competing as novice rowers, making their debut in competitive rowing.

The quartet demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship throughout the event, combining fun with fierce determination as they powered through their races. Their positive team spirit was evident both on and off the water, earning praise from coaches and spectators alike.

Mr Kite, Headteacher at Croft Junior School, which caters for 360 children aged 7 to 11 years old, expressed pride in the boys’ accomplishment. “To finish fourth in their first rowing competition is a fantastic result. The boys showed real character and worked brilliantly together as a team.”

The competition provided an excellent opportunity for pupils to experience a new sport whilst representing their school, embodying the values of perseverance and collaboration that Croft Junior School champions.
